Job Summary: The primary responsibility of this position is to develop new business and sell new accounts. In addition, this position is responsible for renewing, servicing and developing existing personal lines accounts adhering to internal policies and procedures.
Principal Responsibilities: Develops prospects and sale of new personal lines property, casualty, excess liability including but not limited to: Domestic works comp, directors and officers liability, Employee practice liability insurance.
Maintains and documents prospect contacts to gain information on expirations, insurance needs and receptiveness to proposals.
Prepares accurate applications for all coverage's on new business. Develops and delivers presentations to underwriters under the guidance of marketing, sales or service management.
Secures orders for new business and conducts the initial service assignment, which includes the delivery of policies, collection of premiums and explanation of agency services.
Continually monitors the status of accounts receivables on assigned accounts and takes appropriate action necessary to collect premiums due and keep accounts current.
Develops and maintains strong working relationships with clients and agencies.
Works specifically with bank resource to identify high net worth clients in our Wealth Management, Private Bank and Commercial banking operations. Qualify and close those referrals
Maintain or develop a center of influence network of professionals to which you can prospect new business opportunities on an exclusive basis.
Acts as a resource to junior staff members.
Pursue CPRM professional designation
Adheres to compliance procedures and internal/operational risk controls in accordance with any and all applicable regulatory standards, requirements, and policies.
Education/Experience Requirements: College degree or equivalent work experience required. 7-10 years relevant experience. Connecticut Property Casualty Agent’s license required.
Job Specific Competencies: Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills are needed to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
Specialized knowledge of high value insurance products. Demonstrated ability to meet sales goals.
Expert knowledge in the reviewing of high value accounts, identifying risk exposures across multiple locations and potential gaps in coverage.
Excellent PC skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation, internal and industry standard software.
Excellent ability to evaluate, analyze and quantify the financial impact of the issues involved.
Excellent ability to foster and cultivate strong working relationships with external contacts.
