Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, this position manages a department that is a support service to all City departments for the coordination and the administration of claims associated with workers' compensation, auto liability, general liability, and City property damage. This position oversees and assists investigating incidents, developing and administering in-service safety training programs, administering safety programs and policies, and developing and revising safety programs as needed. This position also assists in evaluating current insurance needs throughout the City and evaluating policies for coverage options and renewals as needed.
Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Business or a related field, and a minimum of five years of safety related experience. Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Associate in Claims (AIC), Adjuster's Multi-line License through the Texas Department of Insurance, Risk Managers License through the Texas Department of Insurance required. A valid Texas driver's license is required. A Professional Human Resources certification (PHR or SPHR) is preferred.
