VCC is currently seeking a PTReal Estate Underwriter for its Lending and Community Impact Team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
Spreading financial statements, tax returns and analyzing risks for all transactions that are identified by the lending officers.
Conducts a full financial analysis for all borrowers and guarantors in potential transactions.
Works closely with each lender and the Chief Risk Officer to determine the proper loan structure for transactions and provides insight into the financial strengths and weaknesses of potential borrowers.
Assists lenders with proformas, and sensitivity analyses
Communicates with borrowers, guarantors, and their support staff including CPAs to gather further detail to complete underwriting analyses
Assists in the preparation of Credit Memos and presentations to Loan Review Committee(s)
Become fully proficient in the use of the Sageworks, a spreadsheet analytical software tool
Assists lenders in maintaining documentation in digital customer and prospect folders
With lenders, meets with customers and/or prospects to refine loan requests
Works with lenders to ensure a high level of customer service while managing risk for the organization
All other duties, research and special projects as assigned
VCC offers a competitive salary based on experience and skills. The salary range for this position is between $27.00-$37.00 based on prior experience. In addition to salary, this position is eligible for a bonus opportunity if bonuses are paid in any given calendar year.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Possess a solid understanding of accounting, financial statement analysis, interest calculations and loan documentation
Demonstrate the understanding and skill set for commercial lending analysis and commercial lending products as it relates to affordable housing, small business and non-profit organizations
Bachelor’s degree required from 4-year college or university with a degree in accounting or finance field.
Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in a banking environment with experience in commercial and commercial real estate mortgage loan financial analysis and loan spreadsheet software.
Excellent organizational & communication skills.
Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and Windows file management.
