Manage daily activities of all open claims for current policy and all prior years.
Prioritizes claim examiners workload.
Fosters and maintains a collaborative relationship with field management, carriers, TPA’s, legal counsel to ensure all claim handling activities are practiced while achieving management satisfaction within company’s financial guidelines & objectives.
Evaluates current processes to increase work production. Works closely with carrier/broker/TPA to assure service levels are being met.
Reviews high exposures for AL and GL. Works closely with Safety with WC high exposures.
Handles catastrophic claims when reported, aligning the placement of legal investigation, carrier medical management to insure all claim is properly handled while properly disseminating details to senior and executive management.
Reviews customer’s contract language for indemnity language and scope of work to assess claim exposure.
Manages the cost and direction of claims through weekly claim conferencing meetings with internal claim examiners.
Works with Claim Examiners to assure Field is receiving updated loss details through monthly/quarterly conference impact to their LCPH and allocation of overheads (rates).
Assures litigation log is updated and current for all activity.
Keeps current on State laws affecting all lines of business.
Participates and presents to Management Leadership Academy attendees.
Participates in monthly corporate safety calls.
Participates in the “due diligence” process when an acquisition occurs within the company.
Evidence of strong communication skills (verbal and written).
Evidence of strong interpersonal skills.
Evidence of analytical ability.
Experience with independent problem-solving.
Valid driver’s license and insurability.
Experience with computer information systems and Microsoft applications.
