The Role This is a key role within the FP&A Consolidations team, highly visible, providing business analysis and insight to Moody's Analytics Senior Management. This individual will be responsible for producing monthly/quarterly reporting packs evaluating MA sales growth and underlying sales drivers. In addition, the FP&A Manager will oversee off-shore resources to ensure proper maintenance of the complex reporting and data framework supporting the packs. The individual will help implement a more streamlined approach to capture this data in the future. The FP&A Manager will prepare high-level variance commentary and track on-going performance of industry peers, performing comparative analysis on a quarterly basis.
Prepare and ultimately present dashboards to Senior Management
Ensure data capture is consistent and elements accurately reflect business definitions
Develop new analytics/insights and drive adoption across Moody's Analytics
Provide timely and accurate ad-hoc analysis
Coordinate with offshore project team for automating manual processes to improve efficiencies
The Financial Planning & Analysis Team is part of MA Administration department reporting to the CAO. The FP&A team reports on actual sales & revenue results and is responsible for developing Moody's Analytics-wide financial projections. In order to support these activities there are dedicated resources to each external segment, Research, Data & Analytics, Professional Services and Enterprise Risk Solutions, as well as a Consolidations team responsible for analysis of product level performance.
Strong academic background Bachelor's degree in Finance, marketing strategy or related discipline
3~5 years of experience in strategic planning or financial analysis required
Financial services or B2B marketing experience preferred
Experience with data querying, data linkage preferred
Understanding of the fixed income/credit risk market a plus
Advanced knowledge of Excel/PowerPoint. Tableau and SQL desirable.
Knowledge of Cognos or similar BI tools a plus
Proficiency in various data mining research methods
Comfort with Statistical Analysis
Ability to lead and manage multi-disciplinary project working groups
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
