The State of Vermont's Office of Risk Management is seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented individual to assess and manage the State's risks as the Risk Management Policy and Mediation Director in Montpelier, Vermont.
Duties include analyzing and managing risk management issues by identifying, measuring and making recommendations on policy, operational or enterprise risks for the State. Responsible for proposing policies and procedures to adequately protect the State against all risks and for the facilitation of prompt and fair resolution of claims filed against the State. Position has a great deal of authority to work independently and to make decisions.

Minimum qualifications are:
A Bachelor's Degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Business Administration or a related field
and five or more years of meaningful experience in property or liability insurance or workers' compensation including excess coverage and claims handling experience
A high school diploma or equivalent
and seven or more years of meaningful experience in property or liability insurance or workers' compensation including excess coverage and claims handling experience.
Preferred qualification: Public Sector Risk Management experience
