We are on search for an Executive Director for an Investment Banking client that is based in New Jersey. This is a control function covering the Americas with the bias being towards someone with a Global Banking and Markets Middle Office process change background.
This would likely be an individual that has run a line function and has been the lead on large change that impacts middle office trade capture program and that would understand rates/FX/FI products and how they flow downstream through the chain.
Ultimately this person will be accountable for establishing and monitoring the control framework across the front office, COO and Functions - focusing on Operational and Conduct Risk Responsible for the Americas control framework in the front-office.
In this instance we need a seasoned Director with the aforementioned work experience within a top 10 global investment bank. This will largely be hands on change management and Program execution skills.
Overall purpose of role Director role supporting the Americas Chief Control Officer. This individual will work across various aspects of the Control Agenda for the Americas region, which will include: o Accountable for establishing and monitoring the Americas Control framework across the front office, COO and Functions - focusing on Operational and Conduct Risk Responsible for the Americas control framework in the front-office. o Coordinates with global colleagues (both central functions and business-aligned teams) to ensure the control environment of Americas businesses is appropriately assessed from a risk and control perspective (i.e. Risks and controls are clear and the level of appetite for risk is established), undergoes appropriate levels of Assurance, and that the output of the risk assessment and assurance work is clearly communicated to management in line with the current Enterprise Risk Management Framework o The Americas Control officer will also be expected to put forward proposals for remediation activity to Americas and global management. o Drives remediation of control issues across the Americas, including as Accountable Executive for remediation programs, where designated by Americas or global management. This will include providing management with visibility over progress in closing known control issues. This will be done through use of group-wide methodologies and other methodologies as required for the Americas business, but agreed with global management. o Works with business-line control officers and global team to ensure timely implementation of new cross-business regulatory and control requirements in the Americas. o Acts as the Americas linkage with Group and all of the businesses for Risk and Control. o Advocates issues globally on behalf of the Americas region.
Key Accountabilities o Ensure the implementation of responsibilities as per the Enterprise Risk Management Framework with respect to both Operational and Conduct risk. o Assist in the management of a framework for evaluating Americas risk levels and control performance, identifying inherent risks, evaluating control design and operational effectiveness, and articulating residual risk. o Work with businesses to enhance risk and control processes as required by risk events or negative assessments, new business requirements, new regulatory requirements, other significant remediation programmes undertaken by the firm, as well as Lessons Learned. o Coordinate the production of yearly RCSA assessments as required for the Americas. o Develop recommendations for Control improvement or remediation as required. o Support the businesses in the remediation of Control issues. o Provide Regulatory support (i.e. responses to requests) for Americas
