Our client is an international asset management firm an unparalleled reputation across the Asia Pacific region. With the continued growth of the organization, the need has arisen to recruit a high caliber candidate to join them.
Manage the risk assessment and risk profiling activity in the region, to ensure that have identified, assessed and are monitoring the key business risks that affect our legal entities, offices and functional processes. Assess activity related to new product, strategic change, business change, new offices, new instruments and new markets. Partner with management in Asia-Pacific to identify significant risks and mitigations for new instruments and markets, and then working with global governance committees and/or Risk team members to gain approval for these initiatives. Enhance the risk reporting framework for Asia-Pacific to ensure management has visibility and transparency on the key risks and risk trends affecting the region. This will involve risk reporting and analysis for senior management, boards and various risk related committees. Advise stakeholders on operational risk event management escalation, resolution and remediation to ensure the firm's standards and practices are being met. Enhance incident metrics reporting and tracking for use in Board-level reporting and trend analysis to drive change within the organization. Uphold the standards and practices for incidents, issues and near misses, through training delivery, KPI monitoring and engagement with stakeholders. Partner with other teams in the firm to augment the operational risk event data, to develop further insights into the operating environment. Partner with the Enterprise Risk team to advocate for continuous improvement to the global process and/or regional data and reporting needs. Take ownership of the APAC Operational Risk Review meetings. and coordinate activities in support of the Market Oversight Committee, Outsourcing Committee, International Risk Committee and/or working with other committees globally to ensure Asia-Pacific is adequately represented. Understanding Regulatory Risk Environment in Asia-Pacific, lead projects to implement regulatory projects where Risk is the business owner. Maintain and keep updated the regulatory risk management obligations register for the region. Facilitate the International Risk Program, support the International Risk framework and program by lending resource to projects and initiatives as required.
To be considered, you will be a university graduate with a minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience with experience in asset management. Proven ability in building and fostering strong, positive working relationships in a global organization to enable a strong understanding and close alignment with business needs, strategic direction, and risk appetite. Excellent written and spoken communication skills. Sound interpersonal skills. Confident and results driven. Some travelling required.
