We are seeking an individual for the position of Director of Risk Management in our corporate office located in Wall, NJ.
This individual will provide strategic and operational leadership of the Risk Management function and provide risk leadership and decision support for all Company locations. Responsibilities include understanding and quantifying STA’s insurable risk, addressing the specific insurable risk associated with the company’s business activities and identifying appropriate products or programs to mitigate against risk.
Specific responsibilities include:
Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the company’s risk appetite and the insurable risk of all STA activities.
Serve as the Company’s principle source of expertise about the insurance marketplace through relationships with industry associations, the company’s insurance brokers/ insurers and legal advisors.
Lead all efforts to maintain and evolve the Company’s insurance coverage including preparation of underwriting information, negotiation of policy terms and conditions and facilitation of coverage binders and premium payments.
Overall responsibilities for claims function with focus on successful resolution. Responsible for managing the integrity of claim information.
Identify loss trends and implement loss mitigation strategies aimed at reducing future losses.
Evaluate all litigation for insurance coverage potential and report covered claims timely to insurers.
Participate in acquisition due diligence in regard to target exposures and insurance programs. Coordinate transition / integration of acquitted target exposures into Company’s insurance programs.
10+ years of Risk Management senior manager role preferably in the transportation industry with multi-state operations.
Bachelor degree in Risk Management, Finance or equivalent field of study.
Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) a plus.
Must be willing to travel up to company locations as needed.
Ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships throughout the company.
