The Manager will manage risk management activities to prevent and/or minimize losses associated with identifiable risks, provide oversight of the company’s Third Party Administrator (TPA), provide both internal and external regulatory compliance reporting and tracking, and complete risk management projects as assigned to minimize the total of cost of risk to the organization.
Study and analyze industrial accident causes and hazards to health for use by company personnel and outside agencies
Formulate general safety policies and procedures to be followed by company or plant personnel in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations
Consult with all departments on design and use of equipment, shops, fire prevention and safety program
Investigate accidents and injuries and cooperates in the preparation of material and evidence for organization use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations
Compile and submit accident reports required by regulatory agencies
Oversee the administration of workers' compensation program, including working with the Branch Risk Directors and the insurance carrier to cut down on lost employee time and cut back on unjust claims on a consulting basis as needed
Devise, supervise, and coordinate training programs or media which will increase proficiency in safe practices and promote safety consciousness
Prepare and arrange safety exhibits and material for display
Represent the organization in community or industry safety groups and programs
Maintain safety files and records
Manage and update Risk Management Manuals
Conduct training for the Branches
Provide claim analysis to management and provide loss run data for analysis
Work with Company Presidents, General Managers, and Operations on safety and loss control issues
Work with Human Resources and Operations to insure compliance with government regulations (i.e. OSHA, EPA and DOT) and company policies (i.e. drug testing) as needed
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university; five (5) or more years related risk management experience and/or training; or 10 or more years of education and experience.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Internet applications and executive level presentations.
Knowledge of the accounting systems is required.
Excellent customer service skills.
