Reserving Actuary Consultant will play a key role in the actuarial reserving function through management and execution of the quarterly reserve analysis. He/she will be responsible for actuarial claims diagnostics; will develop new, and improve existing, reserving methods for CMP, workers compensation, personal auto, and property lines. Includes modeling, statistical and financial analysis, development, implementation, and management of the reserving process for accurate and useful presentation.
Primary Job Functions:
Performs all the technical functions required in Actuarial Reserving, including but not limited to reserving process management, claims monitoring, selection of ultimate losses, financial impact, regulation and compliance.
Works closely with Finance in implementation of reserving selections for accounting and forecasting purposes.
Generates claims metrics to influence practice of Product, Pricing, and Claims departments.
Responsible for support of Appointed Actuary, independent consultants and auditors, actuaries employed by the parent, etc. for timely and accurate analysis.
Leads compliance with regulatory requirements and assurance of timely submission of Statement of Actuarial Opinion, Actuarial Report, interaction with the external and internal auditors and reporting to Audit and Risk Committee.
Collaborates with internal stakeholders including Claims, Pricing, Product, and Sales on claims findings.
Plays a key role in all aspects of reserving, including data preparation, analysis, presentation, claims monitoring, IBNR allocation, review of reserve accounting, etc.
Communicates estimates and proposed changes clearly and succinctly. Presents results to executive stakeholders with professional visual analysis and summaries.
Demonstrated ability to manage project execution. Assists in strategic direction of the Actuarial Reserves unit. 10+ years actuarial experience in the P&C Industry with 3+ years reserving experience
FCAS or ACAS working towards FCAS.
