Full-time, one-year Visiting Assistant Professor in the School of Actuarial Science & Risk Management (with the possibility of renewal for up to 3 years), with an anticipated start date of January 15, 2020.
The duties of this position include teaching a range of courses supporting the actuarial science major and other courses supporting the School of Actuarial Science & Risk Management (SoASRM), including courses in insurance. We are looking for a candidate with an existing research record, as well as clear evidence that the candidate will continue to have successful publishing in actuarial journals.
Successful candidates will present evidence of teaching excellence. The candidate will also be expected to participate in service activities for the university, college, program, and profession. Service related to our SoASRM may include advising students and student organizations, developing curricula, and outreach to the local insurance community. Preference will be given to candidates that can assist us in growing our insurance program, including expansion into areas like insurtech.

Applicants must have an earned Doctorate degree in actuarial science or a closely related field. Applicants are required to be qualified according to AACSB standards.
Relevant actuarial credentials (e.g., ACAS, ASA, FCAS, FSA) are preferred, but not essential.
