Claims Management, Property and Casualty, Risk Management
The Risk Management Intern will work with all aspects of our Risk Management Department. The intern will participate in broker and carrier meetings as we prepare for our casualty renewals. Basic data analytics will be used daily to help us better understand our risks and our opportunities. The intern will shadow both the Claims and Safety functions of our department as well. From the Claim perspective, the intern will participate in regularly scheduled claim status calls, claim reviews and help audit claim files. As Safety is a critical function of any organization, the intern will also spend time with our Safety Team, reviewing current Safety Assessment processes and analyzing the results of previous assessments. The intern will play a critical role in our Accident Investigate Process. The intern will be exposed to every facet of our Risk Management Program.
Our intern will also spend time shadowing our various partners too, including our insurance broker, carrier and our TPA.
At the end of the program, the intern will have experienced the real life workings of a Risk Management Department at a large publicly traded company.
The ideal candidate will be majoring in Risk Management, Insurance, Safety or other allied fields, with a minimum GPA of 2.8/4.0. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint needed. GSuite a plus. Ability to create and edit video content a huge plus!
The candidate must be an inquisitive team player who doesn't struggle with a fast pace, multi-deadline organization.
The internship will take place in Chicago. No relocation or housing assistance will be provided.
Additional Salary Information: The 2020 Summer Intern will earn $18/hour with an expected 8-12 week program. Flexible starting date, but the intern will work full time (40 hours per week) during the internship.
