Job Description : Job Description Provide leadership and strategic direction for aggregated first line of defense risk management, governance and programs for Digital, Client Experience, Analytics & Marketing (DCAM). Serves as the risk management expert providing leadership and meaningful input to ensure risk data is captured, risk mitigation strategies and controls are developed, and appropriate reporting mechanisms are in place. Assures the LOB has adequate processes and procedures in place to effectively monitor and manage risk. Develop and manage ongoing accountabilities for first line of defense risk framework to include appropriate governance structures, risk assessment routines, preventative and detective controls, strong monitoring of controls for effectiveness, and corrective action processes while still achieving strategic objectives.

Support DCAM risk management initiatives as directed by the Business Unit Risk Manager (BURM), or other leaders within the Line of Business, with consistent execution of risk governance and programs according to Truist's Risk Management Framework.
Ensure effective execution of second line of defense risk management programs and initiatives (e.g. Risk Management Framework alignment, Risk Appetite Statement, Risk Control Self-Assessment(s), Change Risk Management, Risk Skills Assessment, and Issues Management) for DCAM as directed by the BURM; collaborate with second and third lines of defense partners, as applicable.
Provide recommendations to BURM on key objectives for the risk management team and understand DCAM strategic plan, key objectives and risk appetite statement to effectively monitor key indicators.
Provide oversight, guidance, and leadership for management of preventive controls, detective controls and corrective action processes within applicable business units.
Lead team of professionals in core areas of Risk and Controls (e.g., Op Risk, Regulatory Compliance, AML, Privacy, etc.) to include effectiveness testing, risk monitoring, reporting, training and implementation where applicable
Assist in the development, implementation, and ongoing completion and review of risk appetite statements, corporate profiles, risk inventories, and control effectiveness assessments.
Represent DCAM in internal committees/council meetings, forums and workgroups as an active coordinator, participant and/or leader. Possess the communication and administrative skills necessary to lead activities related to the specific needs of DCAM.
Serve as the point of contact for and primary senior representative to the second and third line of defense examinations; coordinate and respond to risk assessments, engagement letters, examinations and inquiries from regulatory agencies and ensure appropriate action plans are developed and integrated into the appropriate process. Communicate to DCAM senior management regarding activities, trends, and events pertaining to Risk, Regulatory, and Audit activities.
Assist in the review of key reports, trend analysis, and other information that may be required for various committees/councils or meetings.
Serve as subject matter expert for DCAM senior leadership in the development of processes, control design, and risk mitigation.
Ensure policies, standards, and/or procedures are compliant with banking rules and regulations; act as the Regulatory Change liaison.
Proactively provide a holistic view of aggregated risk issues and oversee remediation activities across DCAM; escalate items of concern to the BURM, DCAM management or applicable risk committees.
Develop the DCAM risk management program by educating team members on emerging risks in the industry and promote proactive risk management within the first line of defense.
Identify and monitor emerging risks and industry practices to improve the risk management infrastructure, operations, and risk monitoring.
Advocate Truist's risk culture, compliance with enterprise risk initiatives and promote sound risk management practices for DCAM.
Coordinate ad hoc risk management initiatives at the direction of the BURM.

Qualifications Basic Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or Accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
10 years of work experience including audit, operations, process engineering or risk management
Strong knowledge of SOX and other industry-related regulatory requirements, and operational risk concepts.
Professional communication both written and verbal, presentation skills and relationship management skills.
Demonstrated leadership skills.
Solid knowledge of risk management principles and controls, broad-based business practices, and deep understanding of segment/function business processes, with the ability to assess levels of adherence/execution and identify risk/control improvement opportunities.
MBA or advance degree.
Consulting experience at a corporate level.
Experience in the financial services industry
Project management skills.
Ability to work within a matrix organization.
Professional certification or license
