As a member of the Finance and Administration Team and reporting to the Executive Director, Finance and Administration, you are a dynamic leader with expertise and experience to effectively coordinate and implement the school’s risk management program, and incorporate a strategic and community-wide approach to risk management. The Risk and Compliance Manager identifies and assesses potential risks and implements plans to mitigate, avoid or reduce them.
The Risk and Compliance Manager will be a member of the school’s Risk Management Team (RMT) and will be guided by and provide input into the decisions of the team. Working with the RMT, you will facilitate ongoing risk assessment, ensure current policies are effective as well as coordinate and advise on compliance related matters. As a resource for all members of the community, the incumbent will be responsible for employee risk management training, participate in health and safety, and be responsible for proactively bringing forward ideas and plans to help the school community thrive while addressing issues of risk.

Plan, design and implement an overall enterprise risk management process with an effective tracking and evaluation component;
With the Risk Management Team, review the school’s exposure to risk on an ongoing basis addressing operational, regulator, financial, health and safety and reputational factors;
Maintenance of a comprehensive Business Continuity Plan (BCP);
Coordination of the school’s insurance program and contracts in collaboration with the ED, Finance and Administration;
Oversee and coordinate regulatory compliance activities.
Provide leadership to and sit on the health and safety committee.
As the ideal candidate, you hold a degree with a focus on Risk Management, Finance and/or Administration as well as a minimum of five years of related experience. Risk Management certifications such as RIMS or CRPM would be considered an asset. You are an impactful leader with the ability to set priorities as well as challenging and attainable goals. With a strong sense of professional judgement and extensive knowledge of risk management, business processes and best practices, you are a strong team player, who can also work independently, influencing and building trust with internal and external stakeholders. Your strong project management skills allow you to bring an analytical, positive and can-do approach to decisions and problem-solving. Strong technology and presentation skills as well as proficiency in MS office applications, Google Suites and willingness to learn new systems complete your profile.
