Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America is pleased to offer a paid opportunity as an Industry Relations Intern for the 2020/2021 school year. This is a remote position. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in the collaborative initiatives with key stakeholders – agents, carrier executives and Big “I” association staff – across Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America (IIABA). This internship will provide a better understanding of strategic planning and project management.  They will help with the logistics and strategy in newly formed workgroups across the association.  The ideal candidate is an ambitious, organized, forward-thinking individual who is ultimately considering future opportunities in the insurance industry. The intern will report directly to the Director of Diversity and Inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the volunteer responsibilities of industry leaders (agency and carrier executives)
• Assist in quality assurance measurements of key program initiatives
• Organize workgroup meetings and key follow up items
• Participate in video conference calls
• Other related duties as assigned
