The purpose of this role is to identify both insurable and non-insurable risks and be able to provide recommendations around risk tolerance and mitigation. This role is expected to build relationships, gain trust, find common ground and use a team-building approach to solve problems and accomplish goals.
Manage processes throughout the year for 10 Marine/Transit/Autos in the Open insurance placements: USA, HdM, HdM auto exports, HdM exports to rest of world, CN exports to USA, CKD parts exports, railroad rolling stock, HdM parts exports, UK exports to USA, Acura NSX shipments.
Partnering with Logistics teams in order to obtain information (shipments, geographic, values, etc.) required by underwriters and partnering with Japanese, USA, and Lloyds of London insurance carriers.
Ability to work with and partner with insurance broker
Ensure that shipments to locations around the globe are aligned to insurance program to avoid uninsured losses
Manage additional non-Marine insurance placements as well
Answering Risk Management and Insurance questions from associates (29 gempos), brokers, and insurance carriers.
Review insurance requirements in agreements, contracts and leases
BA in Business or Economics (preferred)
10 years of Risk Management and Insurance experience, preferred in a Fortune 500 or larger broker environment
Project Management Skills
Effective selling and negotiation skills
Ability to serve as a technical expert and regarding risk finance/insurance area
Manage multiple renewal projects simultaneously throughout the year— have relationships with multiple insurance partners and brokers, actuaries and others
Ensure alignment between risks and risk financing/insurance program
Raise expectations with service providers and partners to provide best for Honda focusing on expertise, services and fees
