Job Level As an Actuarial Services Senior Manager, your role will involve managing a set of activities. You will be responsible for the service offering, for developing and implementing the business plan, and for ensuring the completion of activities stemming from the organization’s strategic orientations. As such, your strategic thinking skills will be critical. Your aptitude for developing talent will allow you to efficiently manage people and performance and ensure member and client satisfaction.
The Senior Manager will manage the Desjardins Ontario Auto team and will be responsible for the rate adequacy of the Ontario Auto book. The Senior Manager mandate will be to:
Staying up to date on the evolving regulatory environment and exploiting opportunities to the benefit of the organization. Maintaining and enhancing professional relationship with the provincial regulator. Advancing the pricing strategy of DGIG by implementing next generation pricing techniques and strategies. Monitoring of the Ontario Auto book for identification of opportunities and threats. Timely delivery of all recurring projects e.g. filings, indications, budget input etc. Maintaining internal stakeholder relationships.
The Senior Manager will also be responsible for managing a team of junior and senior professionals. To that end the responsibilities include:
Managing professional development of each team member based on their development stage. Coaching and mentoring based on each individual’s style. Increasing team cohesion, being present and available for the staff on regular basis.
