Wellington is searching for an experienced Actuarial Programmer with an interest in building a rewarding, long-term career with a growing company. This role will be responsible for providing analytic tools and systems to support the Company’s goals, including support for actuarial reserving, statistical analysis, product pricing, and analytic reporting.
Duties Include, but are not limited to:
Assist in the development and maintenance of analytical tools and models using Microsoft Excel, VBA, SQL, R and other relevant programs.
Administer, design, secure, and maintain databases, including documentation for the actuarial and analytics areas
Collect and refine appropriate data for analysis and ensure its reasonableness and accuracy.
Assist in development of models to support business needs.
Prepares periodic and ad-hoc reports for other departments and senior management, as well as oversee programming solutions.
Interface with IT department and developers to understand the company’s databases and data creation and flow within the organization.
Document and communicate function of analytical tools and systems after participating in design and build.
Assist in training of other staff in use of analytical tools and systems.
Interface with IT in design and build of analytical tools and systems that may rely on the mainframe (IBM i-series).
Qualifications/Skills Desired:
Generally 3 - 5 years of relevant work experience.
Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university in computer science, math, statistics or finance, or actuarial science.
Insurance or finance background preferred.
