About this job:
Will support the district, working with internal and external departments to provide guidance and support related to all insurance policy requirements and claims against the District. This role is also focused on evaluating and enhancing processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall performance, with a strong background in process improvement; data collection, trending and analysis; project management; and continuous improvement methodologies. Supports the implementation of robust management systems focusing on the specific Hazard Risk areas of Workers Compensation, Liability and Property. Responsibilities involve the purchase of new or renewal insurance programs, claims management and administration, stakeholder management, database and records management and financial analysis and reporting.

Coordinates and reports incoming claims and other Risk Management related incidents; provides excellent customer service through in-person, telephone, and email interactions and timely and correct information with corresponding documentation with escalation to the Risk Manager and/or Director as appropriate.
Obtains and inputs information relating to incidents for new claim creation and enters claims received into the management/ticketing system, ensuring timely and accurate first notice of loss entry.
Performs Workers' Compensation claims tracking, within database, as well as working with payroll and human resources, to ensure internal databases reflect current Workers' Compensation status for all district employees with Workers' Compensation claims.
Responsible for oversight of the districts Risk and Claims programs; Workers' Compensation, Property, Auto, General Liability, Bodily Injury etc.
Assists team with documentation and reconciliation of information and tracking of new and existing claims.
Provides various support and conducts activities related to Enterprise Risk Management logistics, data, reporting, training, communications, and processes. Participates in the planning and implementation of new initiatives.
Assesses and troubleshoots escalated concerns and applies expert understanding to resolve complex challenges of stakeholders; focuses on root cause analysis and identification in order to achieve systemic and sustainable improvement with an ability to apply both a proactive and mitigative approach. Approves and documents exceptions for compliance record keeping and reporting.
Accurately and timely gather, compile, and process data from multiple internal and external sources to ensure accuracy and completeness. Analysis of claim data and supporting information to identify trends, inconsistencies, and potential gaps or areas of improvement. Conduct exploratory data analysis and apply statistical methods to identify trends, patterns, and correlations. Timely creation of monthly data reports in comprehensive visualization, including spreadsheets, graphs, charts and slides as directed by leadership.
Develop and implement strategies to optimize processes and enhance operational efficiency, participate in meetings as appropriate, and provide excellent customer service.
Manage invoices from vendors.

What You’ll Need:
High School Diploma/GED - Required.
Associate's Degree - Business, Finance, Insurance, Risk Management or related field - Preferred.
Three plus (3+) years of work experience in a risk management department or with an insurance broker with workers compensation and liability claim handling experience.
Strong attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proven success working in a fast paced, task driven work environment.
Ability to multitask, be adaptive to change, and remain flexible to shift between assignments.
Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport and deepen relationship with internal team members, other district departments, employees and vendors.
Knowledge with Google (Gmail, Google Docs, etc.) and Microsoft (Office, Excel, Word, etc.).
Time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Ability to process data accurately and efficiently.
