The Risk Manager understands the business and assists in the identification and mitigation of risks capable of significantly impacting the organization’s assets or earnings.  The Risk Manager has serves as the primary interface with the Company's insurance brokers in the identification, selection, and marketing of the Company's insurance and bonding needs to protect the company from identified risks and facilitates all aspects of the binding of appropriate coverages, working with our global colleagues to coordinate and integrate seamless coverage.  Working as part of a fast-paced Law Department, position works across multiple platforms, vendors, and safety functions to generate and provide financial and risk reporting metrics to the business to identify trends and to support the Law Department and business to identify safety improvements and the need for corrective or mitigation measures.  Responsibilities require broad-based knowledge of risk management, including property & casualty insurance policies/coverage, claims, finance, and the ability to manage by fact and lead risk exposure efforts. This is a HYBRID Role; Work Schedule to be Determined by Hiring Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Manage insurance placement process by securing, compiling and analyzing underwriting and exposure data, preparing underwriting submissions and related applications across all coverages, and researching market developments.  Coordinate all insurance coverage and integration with global business and serve as the main contact with global colleagues for all Risk Management activities.  Secure and analyze insurance renewal quotations.  Review insurance policy documents and binders to verify accuracy.  Create and maintain Schedules of Insurance.  Manage and direct services provided brokers and other external service providers.
• Quantify the individual and aggregate Total Cost of Risk of the business and various business lines, including those related to various contract provisions including but not limited to indemnity and Additional Insured terms and obligations.  Work with the business to generate, review, and analyze loss data and exposures in order to help drive mitigation efforts and identify business strategies.  Facilitate and project manage business contingency planning sessions, as needed, meeting with stakeholders to further and promote KONE's readiness and response to crisis events     Manage Risk Management section of intranet site.
• Serve as primary Risk Management training resource for corporate and frontline operations.  Partner with internal Risk experts and business personnel to develop impactful risk management training materials. Provide consultative services to frontline on insurance coverages and general risk management matters.
• Procure, analyze and present financial loss information to Actuaries and participate in reserve adequacy testing, loss forecasting and risk modeling processes to ensure organization’s financial statements accurately reflect risk exposures and business activities align with corporate risk appetite. Lead internal Reserve Required process by procuring, analyzing and presenting historical loss information to Finance and Auditors.  Review, approve, and track insurance premiums, vendor invoices, internal charges, allocations, etc., to ensure accurate TCOR calculations and budget/forecasting.
• Support continuous improvement of Passenger Safety Customer Centric initiatives to minimize general liability exposure.  Establish relationships with key business contacts and promote integration of Passenger Safety key concepts into frontline operations. Collaborate with Passenger Safety Products and Service in addition to Service Operations to assist in the identification of current risks to promote the development and distribution of pertinent internal Passenger Safety training materials.
• Support self-administered liability unit through carrier communication, report generation, data analysis and claim system data integrity reviews and updates.   ?Evaluate self-administration loss exposures and coverage analyses to determine trends that require risk treatment.
• Main resource for OCIP/CCIP enrollment inquiries from field in addition to responsibility for OCIP/CCIP training of sales professionals.  Also serves as main point of contact for all bonding inquiries and needs of the business and for insurance and documentation/ID card needs and documentations for all fleet vehicles, and for reporting and management of property, theft, and cargo claims with Company own carriers.
• Additional duties may be required by leadership.

Required Skills & Abilities:

• Knowledge of insurance coverage, insurance procurement process, liability claims and contracts.

• Strong data analysis skills.

• Ability to cost-effectively manage external resources.

• Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.

• Ability to create and interpret financial reports.

• Working knowledge of various risk management processes and procedures.

• Strong interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with business associates and KONE personnel and to lead on risk management topics. 

• Ability to work on and occasionally lead cross-functional project teams.

• Strategic thinking, conflict resolution, negotiation, team building and training skills are necessary.

• Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Ability to prioritize projects and work under extreme pressure of deadlines.

• Ability to work with limited supervision.

• Risk Management Information System familiarity.

• Prior experience with self-administration and/or captive insurance is a plus.

Education Requirements:

- Four-year college degree or equivalent work experience; ARM, CPCU or other Risk Management designations a plus.?

- 5+ years of previous insurance, claims management, risk management, insurance procurement or brokerage, or other applicable work experience.
