The incumbent is a valued member of the Institutional Planning, Analysis, and Risk Services (“IPARS”) team. This position will have overall responsibility to work collaboratively college-wide to provide direction and support for the implementation of the Enterprise Risk Management program and framework, coordination of an institutional contract management system, and development and maintenance of the college’s business continuity and emergency preparedness. The position acts as the primary contact for the coordination and management of the college’s insurance program.
The incumbent will provide risk assessment and advice where appropriate, while maintaining highly-functional and specialized record-keeping solutions for contracts, waivers, driver declarations, and other records. The incumbent complements this work by delivering education and training to internal stakeholders, and serves as a central contact for internal queries regarding the incumbent’s portfolio.
Insurance: • represent the college on the Insurance Consortium of Alberta postsecondary institutions • ensure the college’s insurance program offers robust protection against risks • effectively review and interpret insurance policies; respond to queries regarding insurance coverage • manage the annual renewal of insurance policies and prepare annual property valuations • manage insurance claims • liaise with the college’s insurance broker and insurance providers
Enterprise Risk Management: • serve as an integral member of the Risk Management Advisory Committee; Finance, Audit, and Risk Committee; and Occupational Health and Safety Committee • develop and maintain a comprehensive Enterprise Risk Management program, including a risk registry; assess risks and the college’s appetite for risk • enable calculated risk-taking through the provision of reliable, empirical data and innovative solutions to balance risks and opportunities
Contract and Records Management: • develop and maintain highly-functional and specialized record-keeping solutions for contracts, waivers, driver declarations, and other records • develop standardized templates for a range of purposes • promote electronic record-keeping and support data-governance initiatives
Business Continuity and Emergency Preparedness: • collaborate with college departments to develop, operationalize, and maintain Business Continuity plans • support Occupational Health and Safety in the assessment of Emergency Preparedness planning
Education, Training, and Awareness: • offer educational sessions for the college community on topics within the incumbent’s portfolio; conduct targeted information sessions with specific groups (e.g. exchange students) • collaborate with Human Resources and Occupational Health and Safety to deliver training on emergency preparedness to college faculty and staff

Education and Experience • Bachelor’s degree in economics, business, political science or a related discipline • at least two years of experience in a regulatory or legal environment, or experience related to risk, insurance, and business services; combination of education and experience may be considered

Starting at $72,414 to $85,194 per annum; commensurate with education and experience.
