Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer (CRO), the newly created role of Senior Risk Consultant will provide oversight and direction to design, guide and challenge the business in the effective use of risk intelligence to drive better decisions. Recognizing the need for sophisticated internal risk capabilities, our Risk department is currently going through changes to better align to ICBC’s 2025 corporate strategy. We are seeking an independent critical thinker, who can also effectively collaborate with other key stakeholders to establish, manage and identify emerging enterprise risks.
In this matrixed leadership role, the Senior Risk Consultant will drive a culture of creativity, innovation, collaboration and shared ownership across the enterprise, and produce strategies that deliver their intended business results. They will provide advice to business divisions in building and maintaining a risk dashboard to highlight tactical Key Risk Indicators (KRI), establishing appetite, tolerance and response plans. Direct interactions with the executive leadership team and other senior management are the norm in this influential position.
The Senior Risk Consultant will be a confident and experienced professional who brings a strong understanding and skillful application of value-adding risk management methodologies to improve business operations. You are an exceptional collaborator and persuasive communicator with the proven ability to create a positive and enthusiastic work environment. Years of experience as a senior risk leader in a large, complex financial services or insurance organization, combined with an undergraduate degree in a related discipline, is essential. A consulting mindset with the ability to communicate effectively with Executive Management and project teams from the business will be key to this individual’s success.
ICBC has a competitive compensation package associated with this role and the anticipated starting base salary will be in the $140,000 -$150,000 range.
