The Enterprise Assets and Technical Services program is seeking a Safety Program Manager for the District. This position will oversee development and implementation of District wide employee health and safety initiatives and programs, driving performance improvement and strengthening the safety culture. Provide oversight of the day to day operations of the District’s employee health and safety (EHS) and emergency management programs and procedures in conformance with District policies. Lead development, implementation and improvement of programs and initiatives to ensure the health, safety and well-being of our employees. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and policies across the District. Work with the District’s emergency management team to develop and maintain disaster preparedness and support the District’s operational response to emergencies. Serve as the Districts safety expert; partner with Human Resources, Risk Management, and District leadership to drive the continuous development of a world-class safety culture and manage the implementation of safety policies, guidelines, processes and training.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING GUIDELINES:  
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledges, skills, and abilities is qualifying.  A typical way to obtain the KSAs would be:
 
5+ years supervisory or managerial experience;
 
7+ years work experience with EHS programs within a private, government, military, or industrial environment.  
 
Bachelor of Science Degree in emergency management, risk management, safety management, insurance, business or public administration, or a related field preferred.

CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS:

Upon selection, candidate must possess and maintain a valid state issued driver's license.
 
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygiene (CIH) professional preferred.
