We are seeking an experienced Actuarial Consultant to lead client projects and deliver high-quality work in a collaborative, small-firm environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead actuarial projects for captive and P&C clients, including ratemaking, loss reserving, individual risk rating, and reinsurance analysis.
Serve as client contact: clearly explain complex technical results to non-technical audiences, including business owners and underwriters.
Prepare client deliverables (reports, presentations, analyses) and support senior actuarial review.
Manage multiple projects, identify issues proactively, and deliver on time under tight deadlines.
Collaborate with support staff and senior consultant while working independently with minimal supervision.
Build strong client relationships and support business development opportunities.
Requirements
5+ years of property and casualty actuarial experience (captive or consulting experience strongly preferred).
ACAS or FCAS designation; near-ACAS may be considered.
Strong statistical modeling and individual risk rating skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with @Risk, actuarial software, or programming a plus.
Experience with captive insurance, individual risk rating, commercial property & liability, trucking liability also preferred.
Excellent communication, report-writing, and interpersonal skills with proven ability to interact with underwriters and non-insurance professionals.
Strong project management skills, client-focused mindset, and ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced remote setting.
